Coming Soon to the Back Studio…  In the coming days, we’ll add a new squat cage to the back studio for safer, better squatting and bench pressing, as well as bumper plates to make the process of putting the weights on and off easier.

Class of the Month is… “Dance Technique & Styling 101” with Dianna (MOVE) on January 30th @ 12:30pm.  Here’s a description:  Join FLEX for this FREE demo class that will focus on Breath Control and Core Strength, Body Control and Musicality, Coordination Technique and Alignment.  In this 1-hour class, you will learn basic dance combinations.  No experience necessary.  Be sure to reserve ahead.
 
New Class starts Sundays on March 4th at 6pm:  Restorative Yoga with Esther.   Getting prepared for that “case of the Mondays” has never been easier.  Esther will help you relax and refresh with her Sunday Restorative class.  Here’s a description: A perfect class for newbies and seasoned practitioners alike. This is a great way to set an intention and experience some of the mindfulness and calm we often want to have – yet can be difficult to find. This class is for folks seeking a more gentle and rejuvenating practice. The class begins with deep stretching designed increase circulation and tone deep connective tissue, and is followed by restorative poses designed to balance the nervous system, boost the immune system and activate our healing capacities.
 
Other Class Schedule Changes, New Instructors, New Classes… 
  • Tori is now teaching 2 spin classes a week at 9:30am on Monday’s and Friday’s
  • Based on her stellar reviews, Jordana is our new Saturday TRX instructor.  Seth likely will move to Wednesday nights.
  • Try our new HIIT Challenge class with Jennine on Mondays at 5:30pm.
  • Rachel’s Saturday Pilates and Barre classes from January 20th to mid-March will be subbed intermittently, as she continues her intern work.  Be sure to consult the online schedule to stay current.

Holiday fun is right around the corner and the festive circuit skeleton is your first indication that this is the season to make with the merry. Let’s end this crazy 2017 with a flourish!

  • – Christmas Eve: 8am to 4pm
  • – Christmas Day: Closed
  • – New Year’s Eve: 8am to 6pm
  • – New Year Day: 8am to 6pm

Gym Improvements… Many of our 2017 resolutions were realized with plenty of new cardio equipment purchases, a new roof, and an upgraded design of the back studio to name a few.  (Please let us know what you think of the new back studio design.)  2018?  Hmmm… yes, there will most definitely be more, so don’t be shy to send us your wish lists.

New Class… New Instructor! Say hi to Jennine, our newest instructor bringing her special HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) class to FLEX.  HIIT is the fitness darling of the industry, and Jennine offers one challenging class.  If you’re looking to up your workout burn, this aggressive, fast paced workout of intense bursts is just the thing. Class starts up Monday January 8th at 5:30pm and runs for 45 minutes. Wondering where you are fitness wise? Trust us… You’ll know after 45 minutes.

The Jam Down Dance Workout by Jennine… Libby will be out of town for a few weeks over the holidays so Jennine is stepping in to teach her Jam Downclass. Her teaching days will be 12/19, 1,2, 1/9. Check it out and let us know what you think. Here’s a description: Jam Down – Caribbean Dance Fitness… A super fun, 60-minute heart pumping, high-intensity, calorie torching dance fitness class to get you moving and shaking in ways you never thought you could! Get lost in rhythms from the Caribbean such as Soca, Reggae, Dancehall, and, also Afro-beats. All levels are welcome, no prior experience required. So, get out of your comfort zone and try something new!  

Exciting Gift Ideas from FLEX!   Stumped on what to get your BFF or mailman? FLEX is here to help you be a hero at gift giving crunch time. Our holiday offer of the year is 2 personal training sessions and a full month of unlimited classes and gym use for just $149. If you’re in shock that’s completely natural. Just ask a FLEX staffer to print out your gift certificate when you next come in.  If you prefer going off the menu, we can offer gift certificates in any denomination. FLEX staffers are standing by.

Other Class Notes…
  • – Tori will be taking over the Monday morning Classic Cycle class starting on January 8th, and the start time will be moved to 9am.
  • – Shanti will be taking over Sarah Kate’s Thursday 9:15am class starting on January 4th.
  • – Please check the online schedule for class cancellations and subs during the holiday weeks. Here are some classes we will be cancelling, but make sure to check online as changes can happen at any time…

    • – Pilates @ on December 26th
    • – Hatha Yoga @ 9:15am on December 28th.

Mixing up the workout routine is easy at FLEX with so many different options in group exercise. FLEX offers over 20 group classes each week including Zumba, Pilates, Senior Fitness, TRX, Yoga, Boot Camp, Boxing, HIIT and much more.

All classes are open to members and non-members of FLEX.

Classes can be purchased individually or in packs of 5, 10 or 20. Or you can choose the All Access option that combines unlimited class access with full use of the gym.
